Shredding Star Post-Jam Update


After lots of amazing feedback during the Pirate Software Jam 16, this update fixes and improves a bunch of issues with Shredding Star!

First off, the enemies have gotten smarter and stronger.

Flying enemies move faster and shoot more often, rolling enemies are better at spreading out, and lasers have better aim and have taken to the skies!

A new, powerful threat has also been introduced.

This slow but tanky enemy is sure to be a thorn in your side.

But we aren’t sending you in without some upgrades, either!

In response, we’ve upgraded your Star’s engine, so now it’ll get going faster and turn on a dime (…a really big dime). Additionally, a new bar on your HUD will let you know when your dash is about to run out, and when it’ll recharge.

The camera has also been improved to better frame the action, especially when you approach a wall.

Some bugs have also been addressed:

Fixed an issue where the player would get stuck to a wall in some cases

Fixed an issue where enemies would sometimes fire the same bullet twice in a row

Fixed a number minor visual issues

Other misc. fixes

Finally, preliminary development for the FULL RELEASE of Shredding Star is in the works!
